ADHD is a disorder that is affecting 3 to 5%, children, at school age, and usually, it is in boys, the difficulties are to pay attention to activities and agitation are the main characteristics of the syndrome.

A neurobiological disorder characterized by a lack of attention, agitation, ADHD usually manifests itself in childhood, and continues throughout the individual’s life, if not discovered and treated promptly.

This disorder can occur in all age groups and can develop comorbidities, such as anxiety and depression, generally, adolescents who use drugs and alcoholic beverages have a greater chance of developing this disorder.

The causes;

There are still researches in a study that talks about environmental and neurological factors involved, nothing more official. There is also talk of studies that show genetic predispositions, and alterations of neurotransmitters being, dopamine and noradrenaline establishing the connections between neurons in the frontal cortex, and their causes would be ADD, attention deficit disorder.

The symptoms.

ADHD has symptoms that manifest themselves in different degrees of intensity and behavior. These symptoms are hyperactivity, inattention, impulsive behavior, generally occurring in family interaction, social interaction, also in professional and school performance. The carriers of this disorder may develop other diseases because of these symptoms, such as depression, irritability.

A very predominant characteristic of ADHD patients is that they never manage to finish the tasks they start, and there are several unfinished tasks, they never finish what they start to do, they are very distracted, and they forget things easily, where they keep, what they were telling, they don’t pay attention to details, they make mistakes due to carelessness or distraction, thus harming their learning and professional performance.

 

When the carriers of the disorder develop hyperactivity, their characteristics are of restlessness, they talk a lot, and have constant agitation.

ADHD sufferers hardly participate in sedentary activities and cannot remain silent during some activity. If they are impulsive, impatience reigns in their attitudes, they act without thinking, do not wait for the person to finish asking him or her a question, are hasty when speaking, and meddle in matters that do not concern them.AS

When adolescents and adults are more difficult to identify symptoms, and their self-esteem gets worse and worse as the days go by when this problem is not treated, or treatment is interrupted.

DIAGNOSTICS.

The diagnosis is clinical, and all symptoms should be detected in childhood, before the age of seven, and these symptoms should be observed in several places, such as school, home, leisure, finally, everywhere the child attends, should be observed for at least six months for an accurate diagnosis. Mismatches and behavioral changes should be observed in all circumstances.

Generally, the disorder becomes clear in the first years of school, because the child is born, and this diagnosis should be made by specialists based on the events and experiences lived together with the patient. The criteria of IMD has to be used. IV.

Beware of hasty or false-positive diagnoses that indicate unnecessary medication.

TREATMENT.

 

Treatments vary, as children require care from a multidisciplinary team, along with a psycho-pedagogue, to treat the family, the school, and the child, as they adjust to the pedagogical and behavioral problems associated with ADHD disorder.

The treatment generally varies according to the combination of other disorders, and may or may not use specific medications or even antidepressants and psychostimulants.

Usually, the beneficial effects of the medication appear within a few weeks, and the adverse reactions – insomnia, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, and headache – are mild and occur at the beginning of the treatment, and the human body has not yet developed tolerance to these medications.

RECOMMENDATIONS.

 

In some children, attention deficit and hyperactivity may not be characteristics of poor temperament and personality or behavior, but maybe controllable symptoms of the disease;

This is not a bad thing, but people with mental disorders have great difficulties in organizing daily activities, keeping schedules, and planning for the future;

 

Need to develop some technology to compensate for the difficulties of ADHD (use of diaries, fixed places to store objects, reminders placed in strategic places and bulletin boards, task lists, and daily and weekly appointments) require a lot of work and discipline.

Parents and teachers should be made aware of the characteristics of the disease and interventions that can help patients overcome their limitations;

Psychotherapy can be an effective method of restoring self-esteem, almost always hindered by failure and frustration caused by facing routine situations.
